Women Using Yasmin and Yaz Warned of Health Risks
Health Canada is warning women on birth control pills Yasmin and Yaz that they are at a higher risk of blood clots.
According to the agency, the medication uses a different type of hormone than other forms of birth control pills.
The contraception carries the well-known side effect of blood clots.
Health Canada is suggesting that women talk to their health care professional about all the risks, particularly about bloot clotting, when discussing oral contraceptives.
